VOSS Spotlight

We regularly shine the spotlight on one of our products in our "Spotlight" column and focus on a solution to a specific problem. Short, clear, informative - without frills and served in a bite-sized format. Do you have specific questions about the topic in question? Please feel free to get in touch with us.

In the Spotlight: VOSS Plug - Plug instead of screw

Tight installation spaces and space-saving components - The space available for hydraulic systems is getting smaller and smaller, making it difficult for fitters to reach the bolting systems. Disassembly of a defective line is even more time-consuming than the actual assembly if several couplings are installed close together. Due to the tight installation space, the fitter cannot reach the desired connection point with their tools. When this happens, the fitter has to dismantle the lines one by one until the actual defective line is reached. This process costs valuable time that the company simply doesn’t have.

After all, until the damage is repaired, the machine in question is usually out of service. According to DGUV-113-020, hose lines must be replaced after a certain period of time. On top of that, the hose assembly's service life is significantly shortened even more when using a screw fitting solution, as the hose gets twisted. The tension on the hose that results from the tightening of the fitting is called twisting.

The solution of your problem

In contrast, our evergreen VOSS Plug shines even without being in the "limelight" during assembly: The coupling solution can be practically plugged in instead of screwed on without the need for any assembly tools. This even eliminates the tricky question of whether the coupling is indeed assembled correctly - with VOSS Plug, the answer is always "yes". VOSS Plug ensures zero leakage and stability through tension-free assembly. This also increases the longevity of the lines.

To achieve this, we pay particular attention to making sure that the plug-in technology automatically adapts to the ideal course of the direction of the hose. That not only saves time and space, but also spares the fitter's nerves. Even inexperienced fitters can connect and disconnect VOSS Plug in the tightest of conditions within five seconds. On top of that, the active wedge gate valve locking system enables pressure resistance of up to 400 bar with 360° chambering of the special snap ring. And even if the line is still pressurized when it is unlocked, there's no reason to panic: Because the retaining ring can only open once the fitter moves the plug about three millimeters against the direction of pressure.

For what?

• Coupling systems, especially those with difficult-to-access installation spaces such as hydraulic systems;

• As an alternative to conventional connection solutions;

• For high operating pressures of up to 400 bar

For whom?

• For fitters who have had enough of tight, difficult-to-access installation spaces;

• For companies who are finding it increasingly difficult to recruit qualified personnel and who nevertheless place great value on a high level of process reliability.

Awesome, because...?

• High reliability with simple assembly;

• Reliable thanks to our patented wedge gate valve locking system;

• Time- and space-saving assembly and disassembly;

• Additional protection during disassembly.
